Greetings!
Well, I don't know where January went, but it flew right
past me! Hopefully everyone is still working on those great New
Years Resolutions. I'm always looking for articles and ideas,
if anyone has any for the newsletter, then pass them along!

What a great Unwanted Christmas gift meeting we had the other night.
Many
thanks to Linda Wilson Stout for hosting the meeting, we just love
her house.
We have lots of upcoming events, and of course it is never too early
to think
about Double
Delight! We are on the look out for volenteers if you can help
That is all from me for now
try to
stay warm and check the calender for things going on.

The Sarasota County
Mounted Patrol is looking for Dressage Experienced
riders to exercise their horses on a regular volunteer basis.
The horses are really great Throughbred and Warmbloods. The facility
is nice and the Sargent in charge is an exceptional Dressage
Equestrian himself. Perhaps you might be interested in this
opportunity and some of the ladies whom you know might be interested
also. Their is no back stabbing or drama at this place.
You are VERY much appreciated as a volunteer. If you want to
check it out call Sgt. Chris Laster 915-4771 as soon as possible. He
is swamped and needs our help. You only need to fill out a volunteer
application by calling Sgt Neil Scully 861-5800.
Lessons
from a Judge's Perspective- I have a few
lesson slots available in the Sarasota area on Thursdays. Bill Woods
352-368-5814 or talk to Betty Brown (941 925-1575) about scheduling.
See
Hawk's
Flight Farm, this Saturday (feb. 07) at 10 am
to do on-site

in Sarasota. You can also make arrangements to drop off blades
and clippers in advance and pick them up later. Call Karen
Abbatista to RSVP
If there is enough interest, ADA will again be having microchips
availble for horses. The cost will be $30.00 each, and you can
inject it yourself, or have our ADA member and veterinarian, Dr. Robin
Sego, do it for you. If you are interested, please email Robin
at Sego1@juno.com and
tell her how many horses you would like to have done.

Bob King Horsemanship Clinic
Bob King is a
clinician for all disciplines and abilities. He believes that
your horse is your finest partner. One of the most important
skills is Horsemanship, the carefully balanced relationship between
horse and human. In this clinic, he begins with ground
work/work in hand where you begin to understand that everything you
do in the saddle is influenced by the groundwork you do before you
ever get on. He believes that when the paths for communication
are open, you get the response and respect you need for whatever job
you choose to do. Softness, suppleness and balance will be
reflected in the quality of movement and in the liveliness of
the horse's response to your aids.
