April 2009

 Greetings!

Its April, and that means it's time for our very own Double Delight annual show!  Unfortunately, we've had some volunteer cancellations, so if you are at the show watching, participating or just hanging out and you can help out for an hour or two, please contact Martha at  Koeh2337@comcast.net or 941-320-7673

Only Horse People...

* Believe in the 11th Commandment: Inside leg to outside rein.

* Know that all topical medications come in either indelible blue or neon
yellow.

* Think nothing of eating a sandwich after mucking out stables.

* Know why a thermometer has a yard of yarn attached to one end of it.

* Are banned from Laundromats.

* Fail to associate whips, chains and leather with sexual deviancy.

* Can magically lower their voices five octaves to bellow at a pawing horse.

* Have a language all their own ("If he pops his shoulder, I have to close that
hand and keep pushing with my seat in case he sucks back".)

* Will end relationships over their hobby.

* Cluck to their cars to help them up hills.

* Insure their horses for more than their cars.

* Will give you 20 names and reasons for that bump on your horse.

* Know more about their horse's nutrition than their own.

* Have neatsfoot oil stains on the carpet right next to the TV.

* Have less wardrobe than their horse.

* Engage in a hobby that is more work than their day job.

* Know that mucking stalls is better then Zoloft any day.

Prez Says....

Hi Everyone,

What a great meeting we had. Our speaker, Karen Partisch, A CranioSacral therapist, gave us a great demo on what

she does for a living. It was very interesting. We used my horses as the demonstration animals and they really enjoyed it.

Hope all of you are gearing up for Double Delight. always a wonderful show and of course our main money maker.

Come to the show those of you that have not made it yet and i know thast you will have fun.

That's all for now, til next time,

                                                                                                                               Betty

Truths about horses...

 1. If you think you've left the water on in the barn you have.

2. If you think you've shut the pasture gate... you haven't.

3.  When someone asks if you like their horse, you are supposed to say "yes".

4.  The happiest people I know own horses, dogs, cats and at least one deranged goat (KAREN!)

5. Owning a horse can either make a marriage, or break it.

6. I'd rather loose my chapstick than my curb chain.

7. If someone says their horse has "a little buck" rest assured their horse has a BIG BUCK.

8. If we need rain, schedule a show.

9. A "Free" horse IS NOT a cheap horse.

10. An expensive horse doesn't make a better horse.
